The WETT Continuing Education Program

There are several Continuing Education (CE) courses available. In order to maintain certification, all WETT certificate holders are required to successfully complete at least one WETT course every five years. By attending CE courses, you can hone your skills in the specialty areas that your work involves. You can also achieve WETT Advanced certification by completing the following courses: Code Compliance, Wood-burning Systems, SITE™ Inspection, Chimney Sweeping and achieving at least 85% on every WETT exam that you write. You must also have a minimum of 160 weeks industry experience.

Currently we have a new CE course: SITE™ Inspection

The SITE™ Inspection course is a two-part, mandatory course for all WETT-certified members.

Part 1: the SITE™ Inspection Pre-course

The pre-course is a completely online module that you complete on your own time. After you have registered for the pre-course, you will receive two emails from WETT:

  • First email: within one month you will receive an email with detailed information on how to complete your course.

  • Second email: the link to access your course on our online course platform will be sent to the email address you used to register for the course. This must be a unique email address: no one else can use this email address to register for another course.

Starting the date on which we send you your course access email, you will have 30 days in which to complete the pre-course.

Pellet Heating Technology

Any WETT member can take this course for a continuing education (CE) credit. Only WETT-certified technicians, advisors and sweeps may achieve pellet certification with this course.

This course is designed to augment training already provided by the various pellet-stove manufacturers.

The objectives of this course are to provide a good overview of the operational features of pellet systems and to cover code requirements, venting options and general installation and inspection issues.
